About Image Sitemap
How much money are you losing on image search?
Many Shopify stores are missing large parts of their catalog imagery in Google Images — often more than 60%.
Image Sitemap is the first Shopify App that automatically builds, submits to Google Search Console, verifies, monitors, and updates a fully compliant .xml Google Image Sitemap for all images associated with each product, blog article and page in your Shopify store — all in real-time.
Image Sitemap is also the only app to provide full reporting for your indexed images.

*If you update any product content or attributes in your catalog (like images, image ALT tags, product descriptions, variants, colors, sizes, SKUs, etc), we rebuild and resubmit your Image Sitemap to Google immediately in real-time. We declare EVERY image, regardless of how many variants you have per product. So if you have 500 products, with 20 images per product. We submit 10,000 images to Google for you.
What is an image sitemap?
An image sitemap is similar in format to a normal sitemap.xml, except that it specifies images only. Most people don't know that search engines need an additional sitemap to help find images. The internet is just too big to find everything all the time.
Do I need one?
Yes. While Shopify provides an abbreviated image sitemap with only a single image per product, you need a much more comprehensive document. Our image sitemap includes ALL of your important images and is packed with additional metadata. For example, where Shopify might generate 1,000 lines of XML for you, our image sitemap will be something like 10,000 lines.
We load your image captions with all available product variant metadata, like sku, weight, color, size, description, etc. It is essential to provide this contextual information to Google to enable more powerful and relevant searches.
Image Sitemap is the first Shopify App to provide full reporting for your indexed images. We also identify potential 'Blackout' products — or products that seem to have no indexed images at all.
How big is an image sitemap?
Image sitemap files can be huge. To give an example, if your site has 3,000 product images, your .xml image sitemap could be more than 20,000 lines of code and more than 2.5MB in file size. Can you imagine editing that file manually, multiple times per day, and re-submitting it to Google by hand?

Easy to install and set up is simple, image's indexing is a big problem with Shopify, and this app offered a solution. My images are not being indexed as fast as I want them, and the developer gave me an educated explanation. The developer did not become defense but was personable, you see that is what it is about educate us on how to improve this is all website owners want I hope.
Unfortunately you're starting at 2 images indexed in total, so you will need to be patient indeed.
We noticed that you are using some pretty aggressive lazy loading scripts on your product pages. We recommend that you review this document from Google: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/lazy-loading. Additional searching can expose some additional strategies for better SEO with this.
We also noticed that some of your detail images are quite small. E.g. When clicking on the additional detail image here it is 100px wide https://theartgalleryshopnyc.com/products/after-amedeo-modigliani-reclining-nude-1917-vintage-heliogravure?variant=12657940365375
